Tattoo Removal Review – New Technology

Tattoo Removal Review - Easier Tattoo Removal

It is estimated that more than 45 million Americans have at least 1 tattoo. Recent polling indicates that approximately 50% of all men and women under the age of 25 have a tattoo, but about 20% of all people with a tattoo regret getting it and are looking for a form of tattoo removal.

Laser technology has made significant advances in recent years, but it still requires several visits and hundreds to thousands of dollars to remove a tattoo via laser, depending on the size and colors used in the design. Nuviderm has never made a secret of the fact that we always recommend laser removal if it is within your budget and we, of coarse, recommend Nuviderm if Laser is to expensive.

If you read our blog with any regularity you will also know that we constantly warn against using so called tattoo removal creams because they don’t work, cost to much for what you get (soft skin where you apply it) and tattoo cream manufacturer warranties are either non existent or so full of loop holes as to be worthless. Tattoo removal creams are nothing more than a basic cosmetic with skin pigment fading chemicals included to fade the skin above the tattoo, but not the tattoo itself.

Freedom2Ink

Well, help is on the way although the pace may be a bit slow. A company called Freedom2Ink has been working on developing a new form of tattoo ink that requires about one half  the number of laser treatments for complete ink clearance.  They call this new tattoo pigment technology Particle Encapsulation and Enhancement (P2E) . Basically, the ink is encapsulated in small spheres that can be placed under the skin with  currently used tattoo equipment. The only difference is the ease with which it can be removed using current laser technology .

The bad news – after 10 years of development they have only perfected this technology using a biodegradable black pigment. Apparently  the the material used to make the encapsulating spheres is not compatible with currently used pigments and carriers so they estimate it will be several more years before they have a full color line available for use by the general tattoo loving public.

How It Works

The basic idea behind this product is that the biodegradable ink is micro-encapsulated in a plastic polymer bead. When the the laser strikes the bead it cracks open and the ink is released into the dermis where the tattoo resides and as a consequence of the release the body’s own natural immune system will help breakdown and dispose of the ink. The bead itself is hypoallergenic and will cause no allergic reaction or side effect.

Current tattoo pigments are not biodegradable, as seen here, which requires that they be repeatedly blasted by a laser over a much longer period of time in order to achieve maximum clearance. Many of the currently used pigments, the lighter colors in particular, are very difficult to remove and complete clearance using laser is impossible for many colors.

That is where Nuviderm has an advantage over current laser technology. Because Nuviderm is based on a medium strength cosmetic acid it removes all colors with equal efficiency, color makes no difference.

New Ink Specifics

  • Aftercare should be managed the same way, no special care is needed beyond what it normally done with current ink pigments tattoos.
  • Freedom2Ink is a premium ink and will therefore cost significantly more. This price will be passed on the the consumer.
  • The ink will be packaged in 5 ml bottles (1/6 ounce).
  • Tattoo removal costs using laser will be reduced by up to 50%
  • It is permanent yet removable
  • Colors claimed to be made from the highest quality FDA approved USP grade ingredients.

The Nuviderm Blog

Unlike other at home tattoo removal products, Nuviderm is concerned as much about new developments in tattoo removal as we are in selling our own product. I you go through our blog entries you will see several entries about new technologies on the horizon as well as what to avoid when purchasing a home use tattoo removal product. We are constantly researching new ways to improve tattoo removal techniques and report on these new technologies to our readers.

How many of our competitors encourage the use of other products when they know a better method of tattoo removal exists? None.

Nuviderm has alway encouraged the use of laser removal as the gold standard for tattoo removal. Unfortunately most people with tattoo regret cannot afford to use laser,  in which case we recommend Nuviderm.

Nuviderm Review – Customer Complaint

January 14, 2010
Smiling customer service rep

At Nuviderm we do our best to handle complaints

Who can you trust when looking for a reputable company that sells an effective tattoo removal product? Unfortunately there is no rating system for all the different types of tattoo removal products and procedures and no ranking system on which company says what they mean, means what they say, honors their refund policy (if they have one), and in general treats their customers with courtesy, honesty and respect.

A good place to research all tattoo removal companies, their product effectiveness and  guarantees offered  is to monitor forums and read the essential parts of the company websites you are considering buying from.

Now, no company is going to please 100% of their customers because, human nature being what it is, it’s darn near impossible to please everyone, mistakes are made, and some people are just difficult to deal with no matter what the circumstances.

Tattoo removal is a slow process so Nuviderm Tattoo Removal offers a 6 month money back guarantee. This gives their customers enough time to see results.  They can determine if  the product is actually working to do what they want –  fade the tattoo enough for a cover up,  prefade before using laser to save money on fewer laser treatments or to continue with Nuviderm until the tattoo has completely disappeared.

According to Jonathan Scott, a retired tattoo artist and expert on tattoo removal products and techniques who currently consults for Nuviderm,  even though Nuviderm was the first home tattoo removal product to offer a 6 month guarantee, (much to the chagrin of their competitors)  they still occasionally receive complaints that the  time period is not long enough. Never mind that just about every other tattoo product on the market either has no guarantee, a 30 day guarantee or a so called guarantee that is so full of loop holes favoring the manufacturer that the effect is to have no guarantee at all.

Scott went on to say that any tattoo removal product that truly works will show results  within six months. Any tattoo removal product, especially the creams, which only offer 30 days are not being honest with the public. He noted that, in his opinion, there is no tattoo removal cream on the market that can actually remove a tattoo. He says they market to people uneducated in the ingredients needed to remove a tattoo and the time it takes to show results. Modern tattoo pigments and the depth they are deposited in the skin make a 30 day guarantee impossibly short. In his opinion it shows the manufacturer knows their product won’t work and reduces the chance they will actually refund any money.

Scott also emphasized that rubbing a cream onto a tattoo does nothing but give temporary peace of mind to the person using the product and fatten the bank account of the company manufacturing and selling the product. One such company with a short guarantee specializes in convincing phone in customers they have not given the product enough time to work and that they should buy another 1 or 2 month supply, not reminding them that the warranty period for all subsequent purchases began with the original purchase. By the time the customer realizes they have made no progress the warranty period is no longer in effect, in essence they have been had.

“At least we give our customers plenty of time to make a determination as to whether our product works for them or not”, he said.

He explained that skin pH effects the performance of Nuviderm. Customers with a higher than normal skin pH do not see the quality of results as someone whose skin pH is normal or a bit lower than average. Fortunately most people fall into the latter category and have no problem seeing results within the warranty period. This is borne out from the relatively low return rate of about 8% of all customers.

Tattoo removal, whatever the method used, is a time consuming process that requires patience and diligence.

New Tattoo Removal Product?

New and Improved Tattoo Removal Product

New and Improved Tattoo Removal Product

Invention and innovation – also known as progress, has been somewhat lacking in the field of at home tattoo removal, but we hear rumors of a new tattoo removal product in the works that will set a new standard for the industry.

Rumored to be a cream, this new product actually penetrates through the epidermis to the dermis where tattoo pigment lives and actually “pulls” the pigment out. Unlike other creams on the market today, it is not a skin pigment fade cream masquerading as a tattoo removal cream. This new product reportedly removes tattoo pigment without effecting skin pigment.

Also, it is able to be used on tattoos as young as 30 days old allowing those suffering from next day tattoo regret the ability to start the removal process much sooner than any other product currently on the market.

Hopefully this new product will prove to be as effective as we’ve heard. We will definitely keep you apprised of new information as it becomes available.

Until this new product is ready for the growing tattoo removal market use Nuviderm. There is no perfect tattoo remover, they all have their drawbacks – some admit their imperfections and others lie. Nuviderm may not be perfect, but at the current time the only alternatives are laser, which is costly, painful and includes the chance of scarring. The other most popular alternative is the  variety of creams that promise no pain, no scarring… no problems !! They neglect to tell you they don’t remove tattoo pigment. Some give the illusion of working by including a dermabrasion device  with the product, but a dermabrasion device could be used with water and achieve the same results. Don’t let their marketing fool you.

It is best not to get a tattoo unless you know for sure it is something you will want to live with the rest of your life.

Nuviderm is a cosmetic acid known as TCA. Used properly it will remove most tattoos. If you don’t like the results you can return the unused portion of the product for a refund within 6 months of the original purchase.

Nuviderm Reviews – Temporary Tattoos for Halloween

October 21, 2009
Temporary Halloween Tattoos

Temporary Halloween Tattoos

Temporary tattoos that are applied with water fade after a few days.  Usually, these are applied to children for fun  or adults who may want to try wearing a temporary tattoo before going for the real thing. Some can look quite real and can give a hint as to what reactions they will generate from  friends or family members.

Most contain cosmetically approved additives approved for use on the skin, but in the past, alerts have been issued for foreign made  temporary tattoos because they are not labeled with a mandated ingredient list. Also, past imports of henna products for skin use have been banned because of no mandated labels. Henna is approved for use as a hair dye and not as a skin dye for tattoos. Black and blue  henna are somewhat suspect since natural henna normally produces a reddish brown tint. These black “henna” tattoos contain p-phenylenediamine other wise known as coal tar and are unsafe for long term contact with skin, especially children.

Always make sure  any temporary tattoo given to your kids comes in a package printed with a list of ingredients. We don’t want something fun for the kids to be harmful.

As for the ingredients that go into making real tattoo pigment,  always ask the shop owner or artist giving you the tat what’s in the pigment. These days there is usually nothing to worry about, but it never hurts to be safe.

Nuviderm – Does It Work?

October 19, 2009
Nuviderm Tattoo Removal

Nuviderm Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal has come a long way in the last 10 years, there have been some advancements and there have been more than a few steps backwards.

The advances include greatly improved laser tattoo removal techniques, IPL, tattoo displacement products such as Rejuvi and refinement in the use of TCA products like Nuviderm.

Backward steps include the so called tattoo removal creams or gels that do nothing but fade skin pigment and what I would refer to lateral moves, not forward and not backward. Those would include the products that combine tattoo removal creams with exfoliation. The exfoliation is an improvement on just rubbing a skin fade cream onto your skin but  exfoliation isn’t the most efficient way to remove a tattoo. I would compare it to ocean waves pounding into the shear rock cliffs of some island in the Pacific Ocean. Eventually that rock will be worn down to sand and create a nice sandy beach, but who has time to wait for that to happen?.

When TCA was first medically tested as a possible method of tattoo removal the techniques the Doctors used were not nearly as refined as current techniques. Over the past few years the satisfaction rate for TCA has risen to about 93% of all users. That’s not perfect , but it does prove there is an in home tattoo removal product that is being used successfully every day by people just like you. One ounce of Nuviderm has the tattoo removal power of $750 – $1,000 worth of laser treatments. In times like these that’s a significant cost savings. Plus, Nuviderm is guaranteed…but not all laser removal clinics guarantee their work.

Nuviderm works, it’s guaranteed and it puts you in control of your tattoo removal process. What more could you want?

Tattoo Removal Creams and Gels Vs. K-Y Jelly

September 18, 2009

Tom Leppard, formerly the worlds most tattooed man. He's from Scotland, not Mars.

Tom Leppard, formerly the worlds most tattooed man. He's from Scotland, not Mars.

There is no easy way to remove a tattoo regardless of what some tattoo removal product companies would have you believe. Rubbing cream on your tattoo once or twice a  day sounds good, but it’s no more effective at tattoo removal than K-Y Jelly.

Luckily the human leopard pictured above doesn’t have to worry about tattoo removal, he’s happy as a clam just the way he is. His name is  Tim Leppard and he is the former Guiness Book of Records holder for the worlds most tattooed man with 99.2% of his body tattooed. His face is the .8% that is not tattooed so that means that certain part of the male anatomy must be tattooed which also  makes him  crazy. Looking at him and calling him crazy seems slightly redundant. Apparently he feels he owes the look to the family name.

Back on topic…

Tattoo pigments have come a long way in the last few years and they are now more fade resistant, not to mention more difficult to remove than ever before. Unfortunately the tattoo removal industry has not quite kept up with the installation side of the industry. There has been talk of an easily removed ink via 1 laser visit for a few years now, but if it’s available no one seems t0 be using it.

Some people feel if you get a tattoo with the intention of removing it you might as well use temporary tattoos from the beginning and save yourself the trouble of a tattoo removal procedure sometime down the road.

If you’ve decide at some point to go through the tattoo removal process, don’t be surprised at how difficult it is to remove compared to the hype put out  by the tattoo removal cream industry as a whole. Slick marketing has moved from Madison Avenue to the internet without skipping a beat. They can say whatever they want on the internet and who is going to stop them, Google?  That would be like a dung beetle asking an elephant not to take a crap. Sorry for the crude analogy, but I’m cranky from working to many hours.

Tattoo Removal Solutions

The best solution to tattoo removal is to not get one in the first place. Lasers are good, but they do hurt a bit. Nine hundred degree skin temperatures generated by lasers is bound to sting. Using a cosmetic acid based tattoo removal product, like Nuviderm, is far preferable, especially when you factor in price.

In addition to being safe and inexpensive, products like Nuviderm are the only ones that can be reliably used by the home tattoo removal crowd who want to avoid getting de-inked by laser because of the cost or pain related to that type of tattoo removal.

If it’s time to lose your tattoo, Nuviderm tattoo removal should be your  choice. Every tattoo removal product that actually removes tattoo pigment has it’s critics. Everyone has their preference for whatever reason, but Nuviderm works and is backed by a very long guarantee – 6 months.

This Nuviderm tattoo removal review gets 2 thumbs up because it’s telling you the truth and needles the tattoo removal cream industry and Google in one blog entry. They are both getting rich at your expense. At least Google actually works so I should cut them some slack. The other target of my scorn doesn’t work, no slack given here.

Try Nuviderm, it’s guaranteed because it works and it works because it was invented by Doctors. Creams and gels were invented by the K-Y Jelly folks and we all know what that’s for, and it ain’t tattoo removal.

Nuviderm Tattoo Removal Process

September 8, 2009
Medical study proves active ingredients in Nuviderm effective at removing tattoos

Medical study proves active ingredients in Nuviderm effective at removing tattoos

The Nuviderm tattoo removal process was developed as the result of a six year study by two English Plastic Surgeons looking for a safer, effective and more affordable alternative to painful and expensive tattoo removal techniques in use during the time period from the end of World War II and the mid 1970’s.

After observing the results of 670 male and female study participants, the doctors determined that the active ingredient in Nuviderm represented that safe and effective alternative they were seeking.

Over time Nuviderm removes thin layers of the epidermis until it reaches the dermis ( 2nd layer of skin) where the tattoo pigment was deposited and slowly begins to remove the ink. It continues working on that layer until the tattoo is either completely removed or significantly faded.

Chemically removing layers of skin is a common and accepted practice used for facial peels, treating skin scars and other blemishes. This is commonly accepted science and it is so safe that you can do it yourself.

You can expect to need 6 – 10 treatment cycles with each cycle lasting 3 to 6 weeks. This compares favorably to painful laser tattoo removal procedures requiring several treatments over multiple 6 to 8 week treatment cycles.

Each order of Nuviderm also contains complete and easy-to-follow usage instructions so you can immediately begin the process.

Tattoos and Summer Holidays

September 3, 2009
Good Tattoo Location

Good Tattoo Location

Here it is early September and next Monday will be the first Monday of September, traditionally celebrated as Labor Day. It signals the end of summer and getting back into a regular routine, whatever that may be for you.  There will be friends over, firing up the grill, having a few beers and maybe even a tattoo for those so inclined.

If you’re thinking of getting a tattoo make sure it is something you like, something you love, because it will be there when you go to your grave unless you decide on a tattoo removal at some point.

Make sure it is in a location you can live with. If you think you want a tattoo, are not quite sure, but are going to have  one planted anyway be sure to put it somewhere that is easily covered with clothing, including short sleeve shirts and shorts. That way if you later develop a case of tattoo regret at least no one, other than those who see you shirtless or pant less, will be able to see the thing.

Take the advice from someone who’s been there. You can express a certain feeling or a specific expression of individuality in a private location and receive just as much satisfaction knowing it’s there without the whole world seeing it.

If at some point you want a tattoo removal then no one will know about that either.

It’s a win/win in my book and those are the best kind.

Nuviderm review of the preceding …. 2 thumbs up!

Nuviderm Reviews – Beautiful Tattoos

September 2, 2009
Beautiful tattoo, no tattoo removal required

Beautiful tattoo, no tattoo removal required

We’ve recently written about ugly tattoos so I thought it only fair to write a few words about good looking tattoos…they’re everywhere. A  well done tattoo done by a true tattoo artist can be a true work on art, until the canvas gets screwed up which is inevitable. The older the skin the more it sags, it’s just a case of gravity, old age, UV radiation and whatever else can happen to skin, especially skin exposed to the sun on a regular basis.

So, without further rambling,  I’m heading over to find a photo of a nice tattoo.

Later…

OK, this is supposed to be a tattoo, it was listed under beautiful tattoos at Google Images. It could also be a drawing listed as a tattoo, but if this is an actual tattoo it is beautiful piece of art.

If you have a tattoo you no longer consider art or anything close to being artwork you can always buy Nuviderm tattoo removal and make room for a cover up or just leave your skin bare.
